QUALITY, PERSONAL ATTENTION AND OUTSTANDING VALUE FOCUS AT ALBERT SHAHINIAN FINE ART

Jim Smith, Untitled (from Fathers series), framed,
digital dye-sublimatiion print (archival); Price on request.
Located in the center of the spectacular Hudson River Valley, Albert Shahinian Fine Art has established a regional reputation for presenting artwork of outstanding quality and value. Located in two adjacent historic storefronts, the gallery presents original work only, both representational and abstract, including oils, pastels, hand-pulled artist prints, mixed media assemblages, sculpture and ceramic art. The focus is on contemporary regional, West Coast and Hudson River art. Changing exhibitions, curated by Director Albert Shahinian, continue to receive praise and recognition for their diversity, thoughtful & careful presentation and consistently high caliber of artistic expression. To compliment its visual arts program, the space hosts an active concert and poets series and quarterly artists symposia. The gallery also offers curatorial, installation and arts consultation services.

Leslie Bender, Orchestra Frieze, oil on canvas, 14 x 67 inches, Price on request.
Changing exhibitions range from 4 to 8 weeks and one show, The Luminous Landscape, is an annual event designed to travel. The back gallery features an ongoing selection of Hudson River artists - new work done in traditional representational styles influenced by the historic Hudson River School - as well as a cross section of artwork from the gallery's extensive holdings. Shahinian represents primarily the work of living, mature artists who have established themselves in the region (and beyond).

Arnold Levine , Winter Fields,
oil on linen laid on board, 11 x 14 inches.
SOLD.
A former educator and music conductor, Shahinian sees his current venture as part of a personal mission - not only to make a difference in the immediate community but also to provide a vital link to an inner life. He strives to make his audience feel welcome and knowledgeable by providing them with the tools they need to access and appreciate the visual arts. To "cross-fertilize" with other arts areas, he produces a monthly concert and spoken word series and quarterly artists symposia at the gallery. This activity is part of a vital and growing arts scene in Poughkeepsie. We are excited to extend this programming and continue our series of quality exhibitions in our new second home in Hudson, NY!
